Based on the atomic devices known as Fat Man and Little Boy, this awesome pair of artist âdesignerâ figures are available now!
The 1-B29 & C-4NR Duo Pack is a special limited edition inaugural set and is part of the overall Smart Bombs⢠line. Released initially as a San Diego Comic-Con International 2006 exclusive, these are now available to those folks who could not make it out to the show! 1-B29 features removable robot arms that also have swivel claws and the C-4NR has removable attachments as well. All of the attachments on any of the Smart Bombs are interchangeable with each other, so you can mix and match and create any style you want from the available parts. Each Smart bomb has a clear dome head with an exposed âbrainâ inside, covered by a non-toxic liquid that flows freely inside the dome!
These figures are as much art as they are toy, blending many different forms of commentary and design into one explosive combination! Based on the atomic weapons known as Fat Man and Little Boy, the two atomic devices dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima in 1945, these designer figures attempt to explore our human tendency to hide from the truth of war. By using iconographic imagery, Smart Bombs attempt to disguise their true nature and instead appear as familiar and safe, using representational elements that are engrained in our popular culture. Their ultimate goal is to obscure and camouflage so that we never fully recognize their actual identityâ¦the most destructive forces of war
1-B29 measures approximately 2.85 inches tall and C-4NR measures 3.5 inches tall and they are both constructed out of durable ABS and PVC plastics.
